You Can Help
“If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. This is the principal difference between a dog and a man.”
– Mark Twain US Short Story Writer, Novelist and Wit.
There are many ways to give back to your community. By donating to the Portage Animal Protective League your generosity touches the lives of over 1,000 cats and dogs that pass through our doors each year. You also help hundreds of other that are rescued and placed in foster homes.
Your contributions directly benefit the animals we serve and ensure that future generations of families in Portage County can count on the Portage APL to provide education, assistance and adoption right here in our own community.
As the shelter has grown and evolved, so has the need for increased support to cover operating expenses. The Portage APL receives no government funding for operations and relies entirely on the generosity of those who care about the welfare of animals.
